Well.. I’ve finished all the digging/weeding at the plot and my potatoes are in not much more I can do now except wait for the weather to improve so I can get my carrots/beetroot/parsnips/sown direct. I was down there on Sunday -my forth visit last week and managed to direct sow some early dwarf peas and broadies [ think they'll be ok after Saturdays heavy rain, the soil was a bit claggy with me having to balance on a board]
I’ve got to buy some more onion sets as I didn’t get round to planting them, then somehow managed to throw them out when I returned home [ stupid girl!] I also gave my soft fruit a good layer of manure and a good sprinkling of sulphate of potash to give them a boost..
I’m also planting some asparagus this year. I bought some a couple of years ago then noticed bindweed, I kept them in pots while I sorted that out but they didn’t survive the winter.. I started digging another bed last year and ridding it of any perennial weeds, then raising it up with lots of compost and manure – if the weather improves I’ll put them in this week..
Everything else I started at home is doing well and long overdue a photo update – must get round to it..

It’s all so late this year isn’t it, I haven’t even got potatoes in yet. In fact I’ve just given my less productive veg plot to the chickens as I hadn’t planted anything and thought they could fertilise it for me for next year!!
There’s still lots of digging to be done on my plot, and my spuds still aren’t in. Everything is coming on nicely in the greenhouse though.
I still have to plant my potatoes – I keep forgetting about them!!!
