My aunt crocheted these blankets over 30 years ago.. When she died in the late 80s they were passed to me..
The white patchwork was crocheted in Twilly’s cotton and oddments of wool so its quite heavy and sends my washing machine into a frenzy with the sheer weight of it when wet. It either groans at the start of spinning with the drum refusing to move or it thinks it can out bounce tigger. So these days for the health of my machine its folded and draped over a chair back or at the end of my bed looking pretty avoiding the weekly wash..
